Strength: Understanding the Major Arcana of the Tarot

The eighth card in the major arcana of the tarot is Strength. This card represents strength, endurance, patiences, calm, compassion, and control. The meaning of this card is represented by a lion and a maiden. The lion is full of aggression and passion, but the maiden comforts and soothes the beast. Strength represents courage and endurance during difficult times. There are oppositions surrounding you; this could be your lifestyle, living situation, and many other things, but this card suggests being strong despite opposition. The strength card of the tarot suggest being solid and aware of your own ability to endure. Strength suggests strength of your entire existence; this refers to your heart, body, soul, and mind.

Patience is an important part of this card because it requires you to be strong enough to maintain calm. It suggests that you are like a ship at sea, and as the captain of your ship you must calmy make decisions that will steer your boat our of trouble waters. This card represents the ability to accept surrounding factors and people that may be troublesome to you. Your acceptances and patience in this situation will bring you strength.

Accepting others is a huge focus of this card, and it suggests that you must use your strength to try to understand why these people are acting in a way that is unfavorable for you. Simply forgiving the imperfection of others or circumstances will give you strength, and it will show your strength. Showing compassion is the best possible action that can be taken when this card is apparent.

With strength you understand and forgive imperfection, with strength you are aware that you will endure despite opposition, and with strength you can influence opposition so that it no longer becomes a problem. The Strength card allows you to use your solid foundation as a place to help those who are causing conflict work out their problems. This card is powerful because it shows that strength can help heal wounds, and make the path of life less burdensome.

Strength is a powerful card that teaches up that there are many ways to be strong and show strength. This card helps us find strength when we need it, and it shows us how to use our strength to help circumstances and people around us.
